How we check for updates.
Season Signal checks the official ODFW and ODA sources listed here every night. ODFW governs seasons and harvest rules; ODA governs shellfish biotoxin closures. When a source changes, a person reviews it before we update any affected calendars. These checks help us catch updates, but they cannot guarantee every calendar entry is complete or correct.
We check the listed official ODFW and ODA sources for changes every night.
A person reviews each detected change against the official information.
We publish confirmed corrections to the affected Season Signal calendar feeds.
When updates appearWe aim to publish urgent confirmed corrections within four working hours and other confirmed corrections within 24 hours. Apple Calendar and Fantastical users should set Auto-refresh to Every hour. Google Calendar and Outlook control their own refresh timing, so updates may appear later. Keep regulation email alerts enabled for important changes.

What these checks cannot guarantee
- Automated monitoring can miss a change, and an official source may be temporarily unavailable.
- Coverage is limited to Oregon and to the species, zones, units, and sources listed on this site.
- Fishing coverage is often by zone; not every individual water or port is covered.
- Calendar entries may omit emergency notices, boundaries, quotas, license or tag requirements, land closures, or fire restrictions. Confirm seasons and harvest rules with ODFW, and shellfish biotoxin status with ODA, before you go.
